Convert a text-based PDF to an editable Word document
PDF to Word is intended for text-based PDFs where the main goal is to recover editable document text into a DOCX file. It works within a certified simple-document envelope rather than claiming pixel-perfect reconstruction of every PDF layout. Straightforward documents are the best fit.
What may not reproduce exactly?
Complex multi-column layouts, heavily designed pages, unusual typography and scanned PDFs may not reproduce faithfully in Word. A PDF is a fixed-layout format, while DOCX is editable and reflowable, so some formatting differences are expected. For image-only scans, OCR PDF can recognize text before you decide how to reuse the content.
When to choose Word instead of plain text
Choose Word output when you need to edit, rewrite or reflow text from a text-based PDF. If you only need plain copyable text and do not need a DOCX file, PDF to Text is the simpler route.
